Statement from Kendall Dilling, President, Pathways Alliance, on Alberta Government’s announcement as pipeline proponent
“We are optimistic today, hearing the provincial government announce it is taking action to further realize the economic potential of Canada’s energy resources.
“As the Premier mentioned today, Canada needs to create the investment climate to allow private investment in the energy sector. The province’s announcement that they will be an initial proponent for a pipeline to the West Coast is a positive step. To continue building our country’s economic and energy future, we not only need additional pipeline capacity and market access, but we also must ensure that Canada has clear, competitive and durable fiscal and regulatory frameworks in place. Barriers to development like the Emissions Cap, Federal Impact Assessment Act and the West Coast tanker ban must be addressed.
“Pathways Alliance is committed to continuing to work with all levels of government to ensure our country continues to benefit from a strong energy sector that supports Canada’s economy.”
